Creating a data variable

Data variables can store a piece of numeric information for each feature in a data layer. The variables can be displayed as labels, used in Smart Layer queries, used to color features on a map, or used as input in computed variables.

Data variables are created automatically from imported data. To create a data variable manually:

  1. Open the data pane by clicking "Show Data" in the toolbar
  2. Click the button with a green plus-sign (just below the variable table on the left)
  3. Choose New Data Variable
  4. Enter a name for the variable and press Enter
